The restaurant at Château de l'Epinay, l'Orangerie, offers authentic, tasty cuisine in a unique setting. The Chef focuses on seasonal, local produce, using as much of the fruit and vegetables from the Château's permaculture vegetable garden as possible. Our menu is simple, with fresh produce, and we always offer vegetarian and vegan options.

Our ambition is to work with more and more local producers, such as the Gireaud cheese dairy in Beaulieu-sur-Layon, and to use organic products to reduce our waste and limit our ecological impact.

Dinner from 7 pm to 8:45 pm Wednesday to Saturday
 
Reservations are essential to secure a place in the restaurant, whether you are a hotel guest or an external visitor.

The L'Orangerie restaurant is located within the hotel grounds at the following address: Lieu-dit l'Epinay, 49170 Saint-Georges-sur-Loire, 20 minutes from Angers.
 


Terrace

 

The terrace At the first rays of sunshine, the restaurant welcomes you on its terrace to enjoy a magnificent view of the park and the Château...

You can also enjoy an aperitif in the early evening to observe the ochre colours reflected on the grass and in the trees, or watch the stars a little later. Inside, the two stone rooms, tastefully decorated with a mix of the old and the new, seat 50 diners.

Every day, we are lucky enough to cook with fresh produce, carefully selected from our local producers.

We also have our own kitchen garden, tended with passion by our gardeners, who bring us seasonal vegetables, herbs and flowers every morning. This closeness to nature allows us to offer authentic cuisine, where each plate tells a story of taste and local produce.

Our menus evolve with the harvests and daily arrivals from our kitchen garden, guaranteeing dishes in harmony with nature. The fruit, vegetables and herbs are picked when ripe to reveal their full flavour.

This local and sustainable approach allows us to reduce our environmental impact while promoting the expertise of our producers. With us, every mouthful reflects a commitment to healthy, tasty and responsible gastronomy.

 

Alexandre DAGUET

 

A native of the Sarthe region, chef Alexandre Daguet draws his inspiration from his roots, while incorporating influences gleaned from his travels.

Alexandre Daguet has learned the art of precision and simplicity, where every gesture counts and every ingredient is treated with the utmost care. In his kitchen, the chef works exclusively with local, seasonal produce.

Every day, he creates dishes that tell a story, his story, a blend of childhood memories and discoveries.

For him, cooking is much more than a question of flavour; it's a means of expression, a way of sharing emotions and celebrating the nature that surrounds us. Among his creations, it's his vegetable-based desserts that are undoubtedly the most captivating.

By reinventing simple ingredients like celery, carrots and salsify, Alexandre transforms these everyday products into unexpected desserts: "Gastronomy, through its flavours and aromas, has the unique power to revive childhood memories, offering a culinary experience where each dish tells an intimate and personal story.

Looking for a unique experience at the Château? Book a picnic for 2 and enjoy lunch or dinner in the grounds of the Château in spring or summer, by the natural swimming pool or in one of the Château lounges, in complete privacy!
 
The €78 package (for two) includes:

- A terrine of duck with Coteaux du Layon

- A local goat's cheese (organic, ash)

- 1/2 a baguette

- Two small salads: tabbouleh, crunchy vegetables and hummus

- Two desserts: strawberry coupelle, mini-financier and mini chocolate fondant

- 1/2 Evian - 2 softs

 

The €110 package (for two) includes:


- A terrine of duck with Coteaux du Layon
